"When I make a print the fact that it is reduced in size is something that then has to be turned into an advantage. [...] it is the smallness of them that makes them so intensely affecting, at least to me. [...] I mean a painting cannot look visionary because it already is what it aspires to be. But a print in a sense may have a visionary aspect because it implies something bigger. And that can be very affecting."
