The Freitag brothers join forces with the conceptual artists Frank & Patrik Riklin for their carte blanche at the mudac. The four brother share an approach and a common attitude regarding fundamental issues such as resource-oriented actions, the pleasure of social interaction and an interest in thinking and acting in cycles.
Their project does not start at the mudac but in the public space. The four brothers meet the users of their bags, made of reclaimed used truck tarps. They offer them to participate in a special action that pushes ad absurdum the manufacturing process of the bags. Worn out bags are collected and are made into a new truck tarp, the first of a series of new transformations that give the bags yet another life and challenge us to change our habits and attitudes.
This ironic exageration of endless recycling expresses a very serious manifesto adressing consumption in the 21st century that visitors will discover in the exhibition.
